As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I started dreaming and thinking about what our little baby’s room would look like. We live in a two bedroom house, so had to redo our entire guest room to convert it into our nursery. We removed our wallpaper, put our bed in storage, and sold off a few furniture pieces to make space. The only thing we kept was our amazing Paige chandelier from Mitzi. It is truly one of my favorite pieces in our house! I knew I wanted the room to be magical for him - it’s the first room he will have and the room we will create endless memories as a family. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to do some sort of blue and white themed nursery with animal/safari elements throughout. And today, I’m excited to show all the details with you! ARE YOU READY!?

The first thing I started with was the wallpaper. I fell in LOVE with “Puppy Pile” from Chasing Paper. For one, it is filled with dogs (yay!) and you know how much I love dogs. I am SO excited to watch Benson and George’s bond grow throughout the years - and hope George develops a love of animals as he gets older. This gorgeous wallpaper is peel and stick, making is super easy to install (and remove down the line if I ever want to). Puppy Pile is part of our Jen Peters x Chasing Paper Collection, a collection inspired by Jen’s Los Angeles roots that tie in the California sunshine and idyllic views. It comes in three colors - and we chose the blue and white combo. It really makes the room feel custom - and the pattern is bold enough to make a statement but not be too overwhelming! Plus, it matches our felted wall animal heads so well!

When I started looking for cribs, I couldn’t decide between a shabby chic/Jenny Lind style crib or a more modern look with acrylic. I went over a few options with Michael and we both fell in love with Delta Children’s Sloane 4-in-1 Acrylic Crib. It's absolutely beautiful, and also converts into a toddler bed, so George can grow with it for awhile. It feels so perfect for the space - and is definitely a showstopper when people come over! I paired the crib mattress with this awesome black dots brushstroke crib sheets.

We paired the crib with Delta’s matching Sloane 4 drawer dresser. It’s white with melted bronze accents - which coordinates with some of the other gold hues we have going on in the room. I really loved this dresser because of it’s size - it’s not too long so it fits in our small room perfectly. Plus, it has a changing top, making it super functional for diaper changing. Down the line when George is no longer in diapers, we will remove the changing top to create a more grown-up space later on.

Next to the dresser is this gorgeous Liza floor lamp from Mitzi. I fell in LOVE with the sphere details in gold leaf - and they match our dresser perfectly.

Up next is our rocking chair and reading corner! I was on the hunt for a comfortable rocking chair since most of our feedings would be done here - along with all of our fun nighttime reads! We wanted a neutral colored chair and loved the shape of Delta’s Ella Rocker. It is designed with modern rounded curves (to go with our modern crib feel) - paired with a metal base and solid wood feet. We paired it with its matching ottoman for some much needed foot support during feeds!

As far as book storage, we got these natural wood book shelves from Ikea and kept them their natural wood color. They are super sweet (and affordable!) for hanging books in. I was originally planning to paint them, but decided to leave them as-is since we have other wood elements throughout the room. I love, love, LOVE buying books for George and had so much fun with this little corner.

Above our dresser are Babar prints that I found with these Target photo frames. I was having trouble finding affordable gold frames - and these beaded gold ones look SO elegant and expensive (and they are only $8 each! Michael grew up reading Babar and I have always been a fan of the series, so I’m so glad we got to incorporate some of Babar’s adventures into baby George’s nursery. It’s a nod to all the future adventures he will go on in his life :)

For toy storage, I picked a few of my favorite toys (like these Cuddle+Kind handmade dolls) and placed them in this super cute wicker giraffe! It ties in so well with our ahhh-dorable bear laundry hamper below.

And finally, our closet! Our closets in our home are TINY so I had to get crafty about storage and organization. Bins are my best friend!! And I arranged the clothing by age. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me go a little overboard in pregnancy buying ALL the clothes - for basically every age from newborn to 36 months (oops!). Michael called it my nesting phase, ha! Of all the things in this closet, the one thing we use the most is our DockATot Deluxe+ dock in blue. We use it daily for one of George’s “venue naps” and the color matches the nursery decor so well.

And there you have it! George’s nursery reveal. I poured my heart into this room and truly love nothing more than designing spaces in our home that feel like “us.” We can’t wait to watch George grow up here and the only thing I want is for him to have a happy, memorable, joyful place to learn in.
